This policy explains how Chatera handles the messages you send us on WhatsApp and Instagram.

What we collect

When you message us, we receive and store your messages, your name or username as shown by WhatsApp or Instagram, your WhatsApp phone number or Instagram account ID, and the time of each message.

Why we use it

We use this information only to answer your questions and to serve you as a customer. Replies may be drafted by an AI assistant and a member of our team can read the conversation and take it over at any time. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who else processes it

• Meta Platforms (WhatsApp and Instagram) delivers the messages between you and us.
• Anthropic processes the text of the conversation to draft replies. Under its API terms it does not use this data to train its models.
• Our hosting provider stores the data on our server.

How long we keep it

We keep conversations for as long as we need them to serve you, and delete them when you ask us to.

Deleting your data

To have your messages and contact details deleted, write to the same WhatsApp number or Instagram account you wrote to and ask us to delete your data. We will delete it within 30 days and confirm when it is done.
